Bookshelf Reviews – Sheryl Browne

Welcome to Bookshelf Reviews

This is the feature that brings you the latest reviews and reader opinions on one of our  Loveahappyending Featured Author’s books – helping you to discover an outstanding new book

 Introducing:  Sheryl Browne

Sheryl grew up in Birmingham, UK, where she studied Art & Design. Now residing in Worcestershire, she wears many hats: a partner in her own business, a mother, and a foster parent to disabled dogs. Creative in spirit, Sheryl has always had a passion for writing. A member of the Romantic Novelists’ Association, she has previously been published in the US and writes Romantic Comedy because, as she puts it, “life is just too short to be miserable.”

Sheryl is published by Safkhet Publishing who developed their Soul imprint especially to give a home to her debut novel Recipes For Disaster – combining deliciously different and fun recipes with sexilicious romantic comedy. Then came Somebody To Love, a romantic comedy centring around a single policeman father’s search for love, followed by Warrant For Love, which brings together three couples in a twisting story that resolves perfectly. Sheryl’s next book, A Little Bit of Madness, to be published Valentine’s Day 2013.

Sheryl’s books have received some fabulous reviews. Hyperlinks are provided to verify the source of these reviews, which are just a small selection of what some book bloggers and readers have to say:

Recipes for Disaster

Kim the Bookworm: – Completely hilarious and SO entertaining! Tons of laugh-out-loud, spit-your-coffee out moments occur throughout this book. A wonderful reading experience which I thoroughly enjoyed!

Goodreads Reviewer: – More please!  This book is LITERALLY delicious! The recipes are well worth a try even if you aren’t usually a dab hand in the kitchen – yes, I’ve tried one! I couldn’t stop myself thinking that this book is a romantic comedy waiting to be turned into a TV sitcom.  Fun all the way, guaranteed to cheer up any rainy day.

Goodreads Reviewer: – Recipes for Disaster was a hilarious read from the first page.  Sheryl Browne will regale readers with masterful comedic scenes that will have you laughing out loud. Whether you’re a dog-lover, a food lover, or just hoping to be loved, Recipes for Disaster, is one book that is more than worth the read!

Somebody To Love

Me My Books & I Book Blogger: – This book had funny and sad times, many misunderstandings, heart-warming moments and towards the end things even took a sinister turn. All this combined made Somebody To Love a fantastic page-turner that I would definitely recommend. – This book is a laugh a minute from the beginning to the end! Somebody to Love is a truly heartfelt and emotional read! The author exceeded my expectations on the incorporation of autism, and just how a child with it can grow. The book had depth, romance, life lessons and tons of laughter!

The Little Reader Library: – This author shows a true understanding and appreciation of how rewarding relationships between humans and animals can be. She writes about relationships convincingly, and has created warm, likeable, but flawed and therefore very human characters in Donna and Mark. Equally, Sheryl Browne writes with sensitivity and understanding regarding Karl, and with authority and insight as to the possibilities an autism assistance dog can offer a child’s life. I feel that this story has been written with real warmth and heart, with a wry humour at the ups and downs that life throws at people.

Warrant For Love Reviewer: – There are some very interesting twists and turns in the story that will have you flipping pages right until the end.  This is one of Sheryl’s best offerings. It is a bit racy – a little more explicit than her other two books, but well worth the read. She has developed as a writer and well on her way to many successes.

Kim The Bookworm: – Well, she’s done it again. Sheryl Browne has created another fabulous book full of lots of laughs and completely unputdownable. There is always something going on, making it fast paced and interesting, and a hero to rescue the leading lady who is continuously getting herself into trouble. Enjoyable, bright and breezy, Sheryl’s writing is wonderful. I will ever spoil an ending but what I will tell you is that it was fantastic ending and a brilliant finale to the book. Reviewer: – Warrant for Love – a rompy romcom! Frisky, funny and full of intrigues. Sheryl’s book is modern, fast, and full of new plot twists.

Publishing one well-received book this year was an achievement, but Sheryl has written a series already. I can relate totally to the dedication and hard work required to keep up an expected standard and wish her all the the success that she deserves into 2013.
